Philip Joseph O'Connor, known to family and friends as "P.J." or "Phil," was born September 16, 1943 in Salem, Massachusetts and passed away on March 13, 2026 in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
His life carried him from the North Shore of Massachusetts to Michigan State University, to a career that took him to Texas, and finally to the mountains of western North Carolina. He was an athlete, a coach, a father, a grandfather, and a friend to many.
